Jail and Bail Fundraiser

2023 Jail and Bail

Our Jail and Bail fundraiser event is back, and we extend a special thank you to David Hicks and YSS for allowing us to utilize their pink jail cells again!

For those who participated last year, you know just how fun and very competitive it was! 😉

This year we will be holding the fundraising event Monday, October 28th through Thursday, October 31st and additionally Monday, November 4th through Friday, November 8th

If you decide to take part the last week of October, feel free to dress up in a Halloween costume.

Here is the link to sign up for the Jail & Bail fundraiser.

Also, please take the time to read through the instructions on signup which I’ve also copied/pasted below.

Donors can pay via Venmo, on the website, or in person at the MAUW office. We can text the link to individuals on request.

Each person's goal is to raise a minimum of $100 in order to be 'released'.  Signups are just for the given day, and you can sign up for any date.

You will NOT have to be there all day, you will only need to show up at YSS take a photo with the sign, dress up in jumpsuit attire if you wish, and then put out on social media along with making personal asks. Please be sure to tag Marshalltown Area United Way in social media. Please let us know if you do NOT have social media and we will post for you.

  • Suggested donation requests are a contribution of $25 or more per each individual that you ask to get you out of jail.  Be thinking about who you can call on!!!
  • We will tally at the end who raised the most amount businesses & individuals and award them with a prize at the Year-End Celebration & Recognition event.
  • People can pay multiple ways.  To pay via Venmo - they will need to reference Jail & Bail and reference your name.  A Venmo code will be sent to each person participating. Or donors can stop by the Marshalltown Area United Way office to pay by check, cash, or credit card.

Kindly note that upon your participation, you will be required to sign a waiver of liability when you arrive at the YSS jail cell.
