Day of Action is a community-wide event organized by the Marshalltown Area United Way, bringing together volunteers for a day of service. Whether dedicating a full day or a half day, participants have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by supporting volunteer projects with our nonprofit partner agencies. This event is a powerful way to demonstrate a shared commitment to strengthening our community. While community support is vital year-round, Day of Action is a special occasion to unite as a community and make a significant impression in just one day. Through collective efforts, we can build a stronger, more resilient Marshalltown! We welcome individuals, families, and businesses to volunteer for this rewarding project experience!

Listed below are some examples of possible projects that you may encounter:
- Painting interior and/or exterior of buildings
- Organizing and collating meeting materials
- Inventory
- Landscaping, yard work, planting
- Washing windows
- Working with elderly
- Organization
- General cleaning
