The Marshalltown Area United Way and Power of the Purse committee, along with venue partner Midnight Garden, is planning an enjoyable and elegant event to raise money for our yearly campaign.
The evening, featuring sparkling beverages and hors d’oeuvres, raises funds and awareness for our 27 partner agencies in Marshall County. Last year, Power of the Purse raised over $39,000 for our annual campaign! Purses and additional in-kind items, including gift cards, jewelry, wine and much more, will be paired together for Live & Silent Auction bidding. Our goal this year is to continue the growth trend of attendees and auction sales, which will support the 2024-2025 annual campaign goal of $900,000. All proceeds benefit the 27 partner agencies and 30 programs for the 12,000 individuals served in Marshall County.
The Power of the Purse Committee is also seeking individuals and organizations for cash sponsorships and/or donation of purses or other in-kind items to fill purses for the live and silent auctions at Marshalltown Area United Way’s annual Power of the Purse Event.
What to donate? New purses, new jewelry, gift certificates for products or services from your place of business, or similar items.
How do I donate? Contact the United Way office to arrange pick-up or drop-off, located at the south end of The MACC (formerly known as the Fisher Community Center) at 709 S. Center Street, Suite 135.
