Iowa River Hospice provides comfort, care, and compassion for those who have a life limiting illness or condition, and provides support for those who have lost a loved one. Hospice care addresses the patients medical, physical, psychological, and spiritual needs. This service is provided where ever a patient calls home. That includes a patient's own home, nursing facility, hospital or an assisted living environment. Hospice services are available 24 hours a day by an interdisciplinary team consisting of Physicians, Nurses, Home Health Aides, Social Workers, Chaplain or Clergy, Bereavement Counselors, and Specially Trained Volunteers.
Hospice provides care and support for the patient during the course of their illness and continues for loved ones after a loss. Bereavement services include phone calls, visits, letters, cards and support groups designed for children and adults. A library is also available with materials to check out or keep. All of the bereavement services are open to the public and free of charge and are available for those who did not use our services.
The Hospice Home was opened in June of 2009 and offers 24/7 care for those patients who are unable to stay in their own homes. Six suites are tailored to the needs of our patients. Our peaceful setting and welcoming Hospice Home atmosphere encourages visitors to stay and enjoy the time they have together while our staff sees to the comfort and care of our patients.
Iowa River Hospice is all about caring and support for our patients and their loved ones at a very fragile and intimate time. We are honored to be part of this tender time of life.
